Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research organisation and is registered as a charity in the United Kingdom and Isle of Man.

It was formed on 4 February 2002 through the merger of: The Cancer Research Campaign, and The Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Cancer Research UK conducts research using both in-house staff and grant-funded researchers.

It also campaigns for improved support for people nearing the end of life.

YBCN is a Facebook group initially set up to connect younger women with breast cancer living in Manchester, but the group was soon opened up to women all over the country. It’s focus is to help people find a friend who’s going through the same thing.

People chat to each other day and night and there are different groups depending on people’s circumstances. They have local and national meet-ups and many deep friendships are formed.
